On February 28, 2018, Dr. Vladimir Galatenko from the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center will be visiting New Orleans and giving a guest lecture at the Loyola University in New Orleans about Multi-Omics Integration. Dr. Galatenko is Chief Scientist at the Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center and an associate professor of Mathematics. In his past and current positions, he has played a leading role in the development of new algorithmic approaches to big data analysis, and is collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of biologists, data scientists and clinicians. An important part of his work is the development of the T-BioInfo computational platform to address the pressing need for efficient big -omics data analysis and integration tools, as well as educational projects for practical omics data analysis skills. His talk will focus on clinical biomarker discovery (in particular, in silico construction of transcriptomic gene signatures) and multi-omics integration in biomedical research.
